Environmental, Health & Safety Manager (w/m/d)

Role Summary
For our new division MAGNA Body & Chassis Hungary (location: Vecses, Hungary), we are looking for a highly skilled and experienced HSE Manager who will develop and implement the safety management system, safety policies, and procedures in compliance with local & country legislation and regulations as they apply to the organization’s requirements.
Reports directly to General Manager, may supervise direct reports.
Key Responsibilities
- Development and maintenance of Safety Management System in compliance with country & organizational requirements.
- Ensures adherence to company policies, procedures, and rules.
- Ensures that all hazardous activities are analyzed and required preventive measures are implemented.
- Performs safety surveys and inspections, prepares written reports of findings and recommendations for corrective and preventative measures, and follows up on task completion.
- Ensures timely safety equipment inspection whether internally or by contractors.
- Identifies best practices and leads continuous improvement initiatives to reduce work process risks, raise safety awareness, and improve safe work practices.
- Coordinates with HR on compliance with Training requirements.
- Develops, implements, and maintains employee training programs as indicated by regulatory guidelines, hazardous condition monitoring, and use of safety equipment.
- Establishing reporting & recording environment to gather incident data.
- Ensures timely reporting of HSE parameters to relevant stakeholders.
- Measuring HSE Performance and setting organization-wide HSE goals.
- Setting goals for HSE Department and HSE Professionals in the team.
- Analyze Incident data and Identify trends.
- Recommends preventive actions to avoid Incidents across the organization.
- Ensures compliance with occupational regulations and standards, contractual requirements, and compliance with environmental regulations.
- Develops and implements efficient operations emergency response plans and ensures compliance with regulations. Provides support to the execution of all global operation emergency response plans.
Key Qualifications/Requirements
- BSc in HSE management related fields.
- At least 10 years of experience gained in a manufacturing plant environment in Safety and Environmental areas.
- At least 5 years of people management experience.
- Experience in implementing EHS Management System.
- Very good local and country EHS regulations and requirements.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiating skills.
- General computer literacy, Microsoft Office is a must.
- Audit planning & implementation skills.
- Hungarian native, English language at communication level.
